Summoners War is giving away a free Frodo for the Lord of the Rings collab
Gollum, Gandalf, Legolas, and Aragorn will be there too.
Collabs are not a new occurrence in Summoners War. The game has had collaborations with big titles, but none is as big as the one coming on January 29th, 2026.
At the end of January 2026, Summoners War will begin its collab event with none other than one of the biggest fantasy titles, The Lord of the Rings.
Naturally, you can expect the game to release prominent characters as summonable monsters in the Sky Island. Frodo, the main character in The Lord of the Rings, will be free to summon. As a free monster, Frodo will only have one element, and in this case, he will be a water monster.
You can also get Legolas, Gandalf, Aragorn, and Gollum, likely from summon scrolls. Unlike the free Frodo, the other four characters will have all attributes available, since they require summoning like normal monsters. It's currently unclear who will be Nat 5 and Nat 4, or if other characters are included in this collab.
On top of new monsters, there will also be a special check-in event. You can get rewards like Legendary All-Attribute Scroll and L&D Scroll simply by logging in.
If you can't make it for the collab, don't fret, as from previous collaborations, the developer will release another monster with the same movesets as the collab ones. They will have a different appearance, though, but at least you're not missing out on the abilities.
Summoners War collab ranges from other games to mangas
Summoners War has had great collabs in the past years. It started with a Street Fighter V collab back in 2020, which was surprising since it was SW's first collaboration event. What's more surprising, however, is the second collab, which features Cookie Run, a somewhat direct competitor to Summoners War's genre. After that, SW collaborated with titles such as Assassin's Creed, The Witcher, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and TEKKEN 8.
It's clear that SW is appealing to a wide genre of audience, enticing people to give their highly addictive gacha game a try.
