If you’ve never played RAVEN2 before, the recent ZERO server launch is basically the perfect entry point. Think of it as a full reset for the game’s progression systems, tuned specifically so new players can jump in without feeling like they’re years behind everyone else. It’s still the same dark fantasy MMORPG with huge battles, grotesque monsters, and flashy Unreal Engine combat, but the early game has been redesigned to be faster, friendlier, and way less punishing.

A fresh start that actually feels fresh

ZERO isn’t just a new server - it’s a full rethink of how RAVEN2 handles early progression. Quest requirements have been lowered, EXP gains are higher, and the accuracy system has been rebalanced. You get to move through the world faster, unlock content sooner, and actually feel like you’re growing instead of grinding against a wall.

For a new player, this means you’ll see more of the game’s big features early on. You’ll explore, fight bosses, join guilds, and experiment with builds without the frustration of being dominated by more advanced players.

Play to Grow, not Pay to Grow

One of the biggest changes is the removal of several high‑pressure P2W systems at launch. Mythic Holy Garments, Mythic Familiars, Mythic Weapon Resonance and Awakenings simply don’t exist on ZERO and that alone makes the early game feel more balanced.

Instead, ZERO leans heavily into progression through gameplay. You’ll farm monsters, collect drops, and earn a new currency called Farming Crystals. These crystals come only from playing the game and can be spent on useful shop items that normally would push players toward spending. It’s a simple loop where you hunt, earn, upgrade.

Treat those Farming Crystals as a long-term fuel. It’s best you use them to grab progression items that make your character stronger in the long haul. Avoid burning them on convenience purchases, and instead spend them on items that make your gameplay more enjoyable (and easier).

Better drops, better EXP, better momentum

Field hunting is a core part of the ZERO experience. Drop rates are higher, and EXP is boosted. If you’re the type who enjoys zoning out and farming mobs, ZERO rewards that playstyle more than ever.

This also means you don’t need to rely on gacha pulls to feel stronger, and your time investment actually pays off.

You can find an area with monsters of an appropriate level to farm, which is what most people do in MMOs when they reach a certain threshold. Grinding/farming is not just for quests, it’s also a good way to collect loot and EXP.

A less hostile MMO world

If you’re worried about PK, ZERO tones that down too. Some areas disable PK entirely, and early to mid‑game field bosses are now Peace Zones. Everyone can participate without getting deleted by a high‑level player, and rewards are shared based on contribution. Guild crafting materials encourage teamwork instead of gatekeeping, so you should try to find and join one ASAP.

It’s way easier to join a boss battle alongside other players that you know will have your back, so the Guild option plays a huge role as early as you can access it. Even if it’s not one of the top ranking guilds on the server, it’ll help in your progression.

Events that boost new players

ZERO launches with several events designed to give newcomers a strong start:

  • Special Starter Package with Heroic Holy Garments and Familiars
  • Legendary Holy Garments & Familiars + 550 Summons
  • Special Corps Growth Event for various Heroic-grade equipment through gameplay
  • Level Achievement Event with big rewards at milestones

These are huge boosts for anyone starting from scratch, so integrating them in your daily grind is a good idea.

So what can a new player expect?

ZERO is basically RAVEN2 designed for accessibility. If you’ve ever wanted to try a dark fantasy MMORPG with big flashy combat and a ton of progression systems, this is the version to start with. It offers a smoother early game, faster leveling, and way less pressure to spend. Farming is more rewarding, and PvP competition is fair.

If you’re ready to join in then you can access ZERO right now by downloading RAVEN2 for free from the App Store and Google Play.
