After another tight competition, we've fed the numbers through our super sophisticated, room-sized supercomputer, and are confident enough with the outcome to reveal it to you, our dedicated readership. It's Trigger Heroes. Trigger Heroes won last week's game of the week award.

At first glance it might look like just another top-down shooter, but we think there's more than enough going on here to make it worth your while. What sort of thing are we talking about? Well you're going to have to keep reading to find out.

For one thing, while it might look like a twin-stick shooter, Trigger Heroes is actually a single stick shooter. You control everything with one digit, moving it around the screen to send your character in that direction, and swiping to pull off dodges.

The game is balanced in some interesting ways because of that. This isn't the sort of shooter where you can storm in all guns blazing and hope to survive. Instead you need to play clever, keeping out of the way of any massive groups and picking off the stragglers.

There's loads more going on here as well. You've got different characters to unlock, buffs, boosts, and new weapons to discover, and plenty more besides. Basically this is one of the worthiest winners of a game of the week award we've had in a good long while.
