Every time Friday rolls around here at 148Apps, we like to make sure you're au fait with the awesome digital gaming experiences that are going to land on the App Store over the upcoming seven days. Or, in less florid language, we tell you the top 5 games for iPhone and iPad that are coming out next week.

Because we're kind we also include pre-order links for all of the games, where available, to ensure that you're only ever a few clicks away from being ready for an amazing few days of play. If you're looking for games you can play now though, check out our list of the best games that came out this week.

If you think we've missed anything out, then do let us know in the comments section at the bottom of the article. Or, alternatively, let us know which of the games you're most excited about.

Block Kitty

- pre-order for iOS

What would happen if Tetris was cats? That's the weird question that this one is built around. It's a cute-as-all-hell puzzler that sees you trying to position catrominoes so they clear space on the board. It's simple, it's easy to pick up, and it's legitimately filled to the brim with kitties. What more do you want?

Turn White

- pre-order for iOS

Another puzzler, but this one's about changing the color of water droplets. You need to make all the black drops white within a set number of moves, which starts off simple but gets much harder. If Turn White can get the balance between challenge and progression right it could be something pretty special.

Turnscape

- pre-order for iOS

Turnscape is one of those games that involves tapping the screen to turn 90 degrees left or right. It just happens to be one of those games wrapped up in the sort of spectacle that you don't usually see in the genre. It's big and bombastic, but since you're just tapping the screen it's pretty darn accessible too.

Lifty

- pre-order for iOS

We've written about this one before, but we're pretty sure that it's actually coming out next week. It's all about making sure that the passengers in your lifts get off at the right place. The cute creatures are color coded, so your job is working out which one goes where and, more importantly, how you're going to get them there.

The Renaissance of Evil

- pre-order for iOS

A premium hidden-object adventure that sees you trying to find the elixir of eternal life. There's a whole bunch of mini-games to make sure things stay fresh, and the sort of wonderful art you only get in games like this. It won't be to everyone's taste, but hidden object fans are going to absolutely adore this one.
