The end is nigh, and it is down to you to try and pull your clan through the world’s end in Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out. Lead your family as best you can as you strive for sanctuary or make deals with the gods themselves for safety, but beware, everything has its cost.

Set in the world of Glorantha, the same setting of stories such as RuneQuest and King of Dragon Pass, this bronze age world is undergoing a transformation. Ten generations after Ride Like the Wind, some gods have perished, leaving humanity on the brink of annihilation in a land where the laws of physics themselves play second fiddle to the whims of the gods. If you are hoping for a jolly, happy-go-lucky romp through the countryside, then dear lord leave now. Six Ages has you lead your clan in a world where the only goal is survival, and there are no easy choices. Your advisors will argue, there are no easy answers, and any choice made could echo through the ages and affect your future descendants.

It isn't all doom and gloom though, and there are plenty of adventures to take your clan on. Explore the wild, build altars, and stick your nose into matters of spiritual, political, or downright mundane nature. You can meet and treat with neighbours, or embrace your inner Viking and raid them thanks to the game's turn-based combat system.

In one of my personal favourite features in gaming, you will be able to carry over a game that you began in Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind and continue your start in Lights Going Out. You can also start a new story, of course, but carrying over and continuing your already-written saga is always a lovely thing.

Six Ages 2: Light Going Out will launch on iOS on August 21st for $9.99.
