Hitman World of Assassination will add Cross-Progression next month
Finally, I can continue my location grind across Xbox and mobile
Five years ago, IO Interactive decided to change the face of gaming and released Hitman 3, one of the best stealth games ever. In 2023, this then evolved into World of Assassination, the perfect collection of the 3 reboots. Then in August, it came out on Apple, but not Android, IO’s only mistake in this flawless masterpiece.
The next step in this legacy will come on February 3rd, as IO Interactive has announced that cross-progression for WOA will go live. This will share youre Experience, Player Level, Challenges, Location Mastery, Unlocks and Inventory, Achievements, Freelancer Mod Progression, and Campaign Story Progress.
Now that last one is very important, because it will not include your Save Games. It also doesn’t include Leaderboard scores, which sucks a bit, or game license, DLC license, or DLC-based unlocks.
Obviously, they aren’t going to just give the game away. So, your story progress carries, but you’ll have to complete a level on whatever device you started it on.

In order to set up cross-progression, you will need to create an IOI Account and then link each of your device accounts to it. Like what Warframe did. Happily, if you want to swap your linked accounts for whatever reason, it seems like that will be pretty straightforward. I really don’t like it when companies make unlinking a hassle.
One big thing to point out is that after you set up Cross-Progression, your save game files will be temporarily disabled. I don’t know why, since you can’t carry them across, but there you go. You can re-activate them by disabling Cross-Progression, but that sounds like a faff.
Complete your missions first before attempting to set this up. It seems like the easiest way to approach things.
Hitman World of Assassination is available to download from the App Store. You can check out the full Cross-Progression guide on the IOI Player Support forum.
