Hitman: Absolution receives a release date for next month
And it's jumping right into the action.
We are now officially in the fall season, if all those leaves Google flooded my screen with when I was confirming that are to be believed. Speaking of people fall-ing to their doom, back in August, we covered the announcement of Hitman: Absolution coming to mobile, coupled with its vague fall release date. Now, Feral Interactive has announced a much clearer date.
So clear, you could call it an absolute date, because it is! We will be able to experience the game that killed the original Hitman approach on October 16th. Or, the game that committed a noble sacrifice so we could get the masterpiece that is World of Assassination. I say we, release it on Android already!
What is releasing on Android is Hitman: Absolution, along with on iOS. Having said that, they chose a very strange order for release. Blood Money to WOA, then backwards to Absolution. Strange. Well, whatever it did to the franchise, for better or worse, although definitely better, we will soon be able to experience it on the go.

Hitman: Absolution kicks off in dramatic fashion; Agent 47 almost immediately shoots his faithful handler, Diana Burnwood, for betraying the ICA. With her dying breath, Diana reveals that she was protecting a young girl who was experimented on, like 47. Our anti-hero then vows to shield this girl from the ICA. The exact thing Diana was doing before he shot her.
Then the ICA brands 47 a traitor, making that whole thing kind of redundant. The plot snakes a bit, but this is a bit dumb from them both off the bat. You kind of have to assume everyone was having an off day.
Thanks to Ferals' expertise in bringing Hitman to mobile, you can enjoy all the assassinating fun with precise touchscreen controls and a well-optimised UI. You can also opt for an auto-aim system, which I was about to jump on, then realised it is actually a fantastic accessibility option for those who need it. Or you can just use a controller if you're feeling fancy.
Hitman: Absolution will launch October 16th on the App Store and Google Play for $14.99.
