Goddess of Victory: NIKKE celebrates New Year with a strange take on a classic fairytale

If you have ever watched Snow White, then I am sure you walked away with the same message that Level Infinite did: that would have been resolved much faster if she had just had a rocket launcher. I assume that's what they thought anyway, as Goddess of Victory: NIKKE introduces Snow White: Heavy Arms in their New Year update.

After being defeated by the Queen, Snow White has undergone an upgrade with advanced Eden technology. This has also restored her memories, leading to a personality shift and a lingering resentment against the Queen. It is a strange take on the fairy tale, but you can recruit a badass Disney Princess, so hurray, I guess?

It isn’t just Snow White packing the upgrades, as there are three new costumes available to collect. You can pull for a new set of threads for Alice, Emma: Tactical Upgrade, and Quency: Escape Queen, although fair warning, the first two are quite anime, shall we say. Quency looks like she escaped from a rehearsal of Black Swan, though, so that's cool.

Of course, you can’t have a New Year update without ramming free items down your player bases' throats, and boy, has NIKKE delivered. Until January 3rd, you can get around 30 free pulls from in-game mails, with a further 55 available by completing event missions before January 14th. You can also get 20 more pulls just by visiting the game's community channels. To top that off, from January 1st to the 7th, you can enjoy double rewards from Interception and the Simulation Room.

Finally, if you are in the US, you might want to pop to your local Meet Fresh between tomorrow and February 28th. Players who buy a special dessert set will receive a sticker, keychain, cup sleeve, and an in-game redemption code. There are also four pop-up events happening in early January, with the dates and locations in the image above.
