Prepare to get your mind melted as Evangelion returns to Goddess of Victory: NIKKE

If you are a fan of sci-fi shooters and incredibly weird, mind-bending anime series, then you are in for a treat, as Goddess of Victory: Nikke is gearing up for its second collaboration with Evangelion. We were also treated to an upcoming crossover at Sony’s State of Play, but more on that later.
First, let’s fix our attention to Evangelion, with this second event kicking off on February 20th. With an original story featuring such characters as Asuka: Wille, Rei Ayanami (Tentative Name), and Sakura (Toji’s sister). SHIFT UP is no doubt hoping it proves as popular as the first occurrence of the team-up. Speaking off, last summer’s collaboration was apparently quite the feather in Nikke's cap. So much so, Asuka Shikinami Langley, Rei Ayanami, and Mari Makinami Illustrious will be available again. Also up for grabs are free skins, exclusive character outfits, a fun 3D event map to play with, and a mini-game.

Whilst we can’t pin down too much about the collaboration story, we know it takes place in the world of Evangelion. The Red Sea of course makes an appearance, and hopefully so do massive mecha melees, if the Evangelion Unit Two and Evangelion Mark.09 duking it out suggests anything.
Looking towards the shockingly near future of June 2025, can you believe it's already that year, a crossover with Stellar Blade will be coming to NIKKE. We know absolutely nothing concrete about this event, however, given that the two are fairly similar, it should be easy to pull something big out of the bag.
As impressive as these collaborations are, and NIKKE certainly attracts big names, I do wonder if it speaks to a slight lack of faith from the developers, allowing it to stand on its own. Since launching at the end of 2022 there have been about ten crossovers with huge names like Nier and Chainsaman. I would like to see where Goddess of Victory would go if the resources were pumped into internal growth over outside partnerships.
Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
