I really shouldn’t be, but I am always shocked by just how well simulator games sell. It is a sentiment made ever more baffling by the fact that I also love to play them. A strange resistance to fact there. The point is, not that I began to make one, Farming Simulator 26 is out now on mobile.

Given the on-the-nose name, I am sure we don’t have to explain what this is; you get a tractor and you farm. Maybe even a combine harvester or two. Giants Software has been putting these titles out for over a decade now, so they know what they are doing. You want to farm without having to deal with moles, you come here.

You will be able to grow your farm with 15 different crops, a number that actually sounds quite small, but then I don’t think I could list 15 vegetables off the top of my head. You will be able to whip these healthy chaps into shape with over 120 authentically reflected machines from the likes of Jubota, New Holland, Fendt, and the only one everyone knows: John Deere.

Why would I harvest when I could build a petting zoo?

Speaking of dears, there are also farm animals that you can bond with. And I don’t know about you, but I would rather cuddle a sheep than a cabbage. Although I am sure a certain merchant in the Avatar universe would disagree with me there. Outside the growing and animals, you will also have to manage the production chains and the trucks for transport. Maybe buy Truck Simulator for the full authentic feeling.

To keep you coming back, because as some of our Animal Crossing islands can tell you, it's tough to keep up, you will be given weekly and seasonal challenges. These can range from simply cultivating or sowing, right up to sending wheat to the mill for processing. I forgot wheat was a crop; I am up to two now, including cabbage.

Farming Simulator 26 is available to purchase from the App Store and Google Play for $7.99. I have looked it up, and that is considerably cheaper than a tractor if you were wondering. What a steal.
