Digimon Alysion opens a short pre-registration window for its upcoming closed beta test
Ever since March, when we got the first official trailer for Digimon Alysion, I have been vibrating with excitement. Well, now I am fit to burst, as Bandai Card Games has opened its registration for the closed beta. Of course, I signed up immediately. I need Gabumon in digital card form.
The applications will be open until August 3rd. It is a fairly short window, so you make sure you don’t forget. The test will take place during August, with the maximum number of participants being 10,000. Considering it is open for Android and iOS, that isn’t a huge amount of places.
My advice would be to sign up quickly, because Alysion is based on the physical Digimon Card Game, which is really fun. I enjoy that you can throw out your strongest monster turn one, but doing so gives your opponent a heap of energy to counter with. Or you can build up your buddies slowly, with each Digivolution allowing you to carry passive effects from its previous stage.

In short, I much prefer it to what it will no doubt be referenced against: the Pokémon Card Game. One is clearly bigger, but like in all aspects, the other is definitely better. But enough opinion, now for some facts. Digimon Alysion is set in the same world as the Digimon Liberator properties, which makes sense since that series is about card games.
Alysion, however, will feature its own original story, full of new characters. It will also introduce some new Digimon, as well as a few special Digivolution paths that can be followed. As long as it includes copious amounts of Gabumon, I am all set. I will also accept some Gaomon, the Lucario of Digimon, because he is blue and punches things
You can sign up for the Digimon Alysion beta test through the official website.
