You would not think a franchise predominantly about baked goods would become a cultural icon, and yet, CookieRun is a phenomenon. Developers Devsisters have built up so much lore about these tasty treats, and the fanbase is truly dedicated. That dedication is being rewarded with a new entry, titled CookieRun: New World.

Originally known as Project N, New World was officially revealed during the DevNow 2025 showcase. A showcase I would love to attend, as I assume there's a lot of themed snacks. There was a host of announcements across the series, but we are mostly focused on New World.

This will be a rather ambitious attempt at being an open world, which is rather interesting. It will be set long after the storyline, following the five legendary heroes. You will take the role of a brand new protagonist, exploring the land and, I presume, running away screaming from an elderly, yet still agile, Cookie Monster.

Fans of the series will recognise locations such as the Sands of Yogurca and the Vanilla Kingdom, all explorable as you trapse across the land. There is a projected release date of 2029, so you will have a bit of a wait. Although that will put it in line with CookieRun's 20th anniversary, which is a nice occasion for this big project.

If you can’t wait until 2029 for your next treat, then CookieRun: Crumble is set to arrive later this year. It is an idle game, which is a far cry from an open-world epic, but still a pleasant diversion for your phone.

Otherwise, you can gear up and prepare to experience Act 2 of CookieRun: Kingdom, the undisputed monarch of the Devsisters catalog. Launching in May, it centers on a catastrophe that splits the world’s timeline, resulting in a massive cross-timeline war. And with an increased schedule of main story updates every two weeks, the fun will keep coming.
