Assassin’s Creed Mirage gets a major story update with an asterisk
It is a good news, bad news situation; free update, possible game-breaking bug
When it comes to Apple vs Android, I fall into the Android camp. I tried Apple for a year or two, and I did find them very good pieces of kit, but you can’t beat how easy Android is. Annoyingly, Apple does get all the cool video games, like Assassin’s Creed Mirage. And now, they also have an update.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage follows the story of a younger Basim Ibn Ishaw from Valhalla. Sadly, I found him pretty boring, but that’s besides the point. You follow his story from lowly thief to Hidden One, all the while investigating the mystery of a vision that has haunted him since birth.
If you are a fan, then the gaming gods have smiled upon you, as the Apple players can now enjoy the Valley of Memory update. And even better, it is totally free. It is a fairly short story that you can knock out in an afternoon. Maybe two if you are a rampant completionist like myself. God, Assassin's Creed doesn’t half will their collectables, don’t they?

In addition to this story, you get a few other new toys. To start, the hardened out there can enjoy some new permadeath rewards. I would fail that within the hour, trying to do a big jump. You can crank up the difficulty even more with the Hardened Assassin and Ultimate Assassin modes, if permadeath wasn’t enough for you.
There is also a Quick Start option when starting a new game that catapults you into this new storyline. Unless you are one of the unlucky few facing a game-breaking bug. Do note that there have been reports circling about a bug that is causing the game to repeatedly crash after this update.
In order to play this update, you need to first purchase Assassin’s Creed Mirage on the App Store for $29.99, which is no small amount. At time of writing, there doesn’t seem to have been another version update to fix this, so maybe hold off for a week or two until Ubisoft addresses this.
