Vampire Survivors is calling in the cavalry in version 1.14 feature reveal

I don’t think poncle, the creators of Vampire Survivors, has taken the news that Hunter x Hunter is muscling in on their turf well. It’s probably been in the works for a while, but I am imagining a mad scramble behind the scenes, because the developers have just revealed a massive feature coming soon.

In a trailer that will make us all nostalgic for computers the size of whole buildings, poncle has revealed that online co-op will be introduced in version 1.14. You will be able to create private lobbies, invite your chums in, and then tackle stages side by side. 

During the announcement, the developers posed the question, “More players don’t make it easier, or does it?”

Judging by the way four characters absolutely rinsed the whole map in the trailer, I would say yes, it does make it easier. I am hopeful, however, that this might be a tease to be able to crank up the difficulty depending on how many characters there are.

As it turns out, this is but the first of five special treats coming in Version 1.14. The trailer shows five cards, of which the first has been revealed. Yes, even in trailers, we can’t escape the omnipresent influence of Baltro. The next feature is set to be shown next week, so presumably that will remain on the schedule.

poncle has offered two hints as to what could be coming next. The first clue is in their announcement. They state that “we might finally answer a burning question that has been asked thousands of times." 

The second might be a clue, or might just be the developers having fun. At the end of the trailer, there is a home movie of sorts, showing something running through the woods and then encountering a skeleton. This could just be an homage to Mortaccio, or perhaps a future character or boss? Something to ponder.
