Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Survivor announced for release next year

I like to think that I have at least surface-level knowledge of the popular anime, but Hunter x Hunter completely passed me by. This leaves me wildly unprepared for Bushiroad Games announcement of Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Survivor, coming to iOS and Android in 2026 for free.

Despite missing me out, Hunter x Hunter definitely took the world by storm, becoming quite a popular series. It follows Gon Freecss on his journey to become a renowned Hunter like his father. At least when the story isn’t in one of his hiatuses, like it is now. Best time for a new game then isn't it?

Nen x Survivor is set to be a survival rogue-lite, which explains why I avoided the franchise. Rogue-lites suck, and I am apparently psychic. If you have played the wildly popular Vampire Survivors, another popular thing I’ve missed, then you know how this game is going to run. 

You will take control of characters from Hunter x Hunter, throwing off wide, flashy moves in order to clear the screen of its millions of monsters. It looks like a fun way to bring your dream Hunter team together and see how that would work together. Although the developers do say you will need to think strategically when putting your squad together.

Looking at the trailer, there seem to be two types of gameplay. First is the standard horde, oh my god, they are coming from every direction, mad scramble for safety. The second are boss fights, that are set to be tense affairs where you will need to be light on your feet to prevail.
