Tomb Raider is coming to mobile devices in February for that portable reboot sensation
I enjoy the idea that actual archaeologists will be able to play this on a dig
I vividly remember my first PlayStation 1. The disc loaded, and I saw a cutting-edge intro movie where an awesome explorer flipped about and shot some wolves. Then two seconds into gameplay, I was jump scared by bats. I am, of course, talking about Tomb Raider, which has come on leaps and bounds since, with some stumbles.
Let’s fast forward to 2013, when Crystal Dynamics rebooted the franchise. It was a fantastic update for Lara Croft, and soon it will be one that mobile users all over the world will be able to enjoy, as Tomb Raider comes to a device near you. It's mind-boggling to think we started at Snake on a Nokia not that many years ago, isn't it?
As mentioned earlier, this Tomb Raider was a reboot after the flop that was Tomb Raider: Underworld. It took us to the roots of Lara Croft when she was but a novice on her first expedition, before promptly being stranded on the island of Yamatai. You will get to accompany Lara as she harnesses her skills across a sometimes harrowing tale, as she journeys to become the eponymous Tomb Raider.

Of course, Tomb Raider is a legendary franchise, and one that deserves the best treatment. So, some folk might be worried about who is going to be handling the transformation on mobile. Well, don’t you fret, because Crystal Dynamics has called in the experts, with Feral Interactive taking the reins.
You can’t do much better than Feral when it comes to ports. With the likes of Alien: Isolation, the Total War series, and some Hitman under their belts, you can rest assured that we are going to get peak Tomb Raider on mobile. Eventually. First, we will have to wait until February 12th when it is released.
My advice is to eat as much as possible on Christmas, and ride that food coma for two months.
