We are fast approaching the most spooky of nights, and we are all asking ourselves the same question: how will I raise my blood pressure this year? Well, PRM Games has you covered with the release of horror FMV The Run, so lock the doors, close the curtains, and chow down on all that candy.

Now, to get the bad news out of the way, it is only currently released on the App Store. It will follow on the Google Play; however, there is no solid date, so we don’t know if it will be out in time for Friday. So, you will need to find another spooky game to play instead. Although The Run isn’t just a game.

Given that it is an FMV, you will be diving headfirst into a narrative told through the media of video. It's a movie you click buttons on, in other words. The Run came from a collaboration between PRM Games, Benacus Entertainment, and RNF Productions, with the acclaimed Paul Raschid acting as writer and director.

It is set in the beautiful land of Northern Italy in Lake Garda, and follows a famous fitness influencer. After heading out on her usual morning run, her day quickly descends into a fight for survival. She is hunted by relentless killers, and you will need to make split-second decisions to help her survive.

Thanks to the inclusion of 20 death scenes, you will most likely find yourself in the company of the reaper many times before you reach one of five endings. There are over three and a half hours of filmed content to keep you on the edge of your seat as you wait for the next vital choice to make.

The story is brought to life by the talents of Game of Thrones’ Roxanne McKee and Vikings’ George Blagden, along with cameos from horror icon Dario Argento and Italian legend Franco Nero.

If you fancy a thrilling romp through Italy, pick up The Run on the App Store for $9.99.
