No matter where you go in space, no matter what timeline you run to, there is one universally irrefutable truth: Captain Jean-Luc Picard is better than Captain James T. Kirk.

Now that this is out of the way, Star Trek: Timelines is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month, which is a massive achievement.

To celebrate, Tilting Point has created a month-long event inspired by Star Trek: Picard Season 3, honouring our most Patrick Stewart-y space hero. And let us quickly just take a moment to acknowledge just how impressive 10 years is, especially nowadays. Probably hard to mess up an iconic series like Star Trek.

Our villains of the piece are, of course, the Borg, who attempt to overtake Convergence Day. This conflict culminates in a Fleet Boss battle against the Borg Cube, in what can only be described as a war in the stars. Defeat this technological Rubik's Cube, and you will earn rewards such as Borg-themed crew, including Prisoner Picard and Assimilated Sato.

These are not the only crew members you can recruit, however.

Tilting Point has gone crew mad this January. There are new characters to add to your team, including Determined Worf, Critical Strike Picard, and Impish Riker, which is perhaps the biggest misnomer in the game. I feel like every version of Riker is impish by nature.

Despite the start of this article, we do still love Kirk. William Shatner is great, especially in Boston Legal. Which is why it is excellent news that the Objective Event giveaway crew includes C.O.P. Kirk. The throwbacks continue, as the First Year of Convergence Collection gives you a chance to pick up the 2016 crew, as well as an exclusive launch-style Guinan.

If you have not played Star Trek: Timelines yet, this feels like the perfect time to assimilate. Download it from the App Store and Google Play, and boldly go.
