EV.IO Sonic Rumble is going big for the end of the year with Godzilla collaboration
This was not the guest star that I was expecting for the holiday special
To succeed in a party game such as Sonic Rumble, you need to possess a few key attributes. You must be quick, you must be nimble, and you must be precise. Godzilla is none of these things, and yet he is going to give it the old college try thanks to a new collaboration.
Now, as we all know without a shadow of a doubt, Sonic would absolutely destroy that lumbering lizard in a fight. You must be the foolish of all the fools to believe that lumbering lizard could beat the fastest thing in the universe. The fact that my editor is on Godzilla's side definitely played no part in this statement. That bee is absolutely getting stomped on though.
Editors Note: Godzilla may not have the speed, but he has the duration and strength to endure whatever annoying stuff Sonic throws his way. Once Sonic tired out or made a mistake, one hit from Godzilla would end the fight in one brutal instant, melting Sonic into a toxic slop. I'll say it's a tie at best, given the two beings have such different strengths. Either way, why is Godzilla here again?We will have to wait a few days, however, to witness this titanic showdown, as the crossover will launch on December 22nd. It will only be around for a month as well, but during that time, you will be able to tackle the Godzilla Survival match. Guess what the objective there is.
If you answered “avoid atomic fire blasts like your life depends on it,” then boy, are you more right than you realise. You get a grand total of one singular respawn on this map, making this perhaps the single most challenging stage in Sonic Rumble. Despite that, this beast is not limited to this one area.
You are able to unlock the behemoth through the Sonic Rumble pass, and happily, you can get the lizard itself on the free version. Fire Rodan will also be in this tier, in all of their chicken-faced pterodactyl glory, which is a nice bonus. I do respect Sega for not locking the big name behind a paywall.
Having said that, there is a paid pass with extra content to collect. Mothra and King Ghidorah will be in this tier, as will Godzilla’s nuclear pulse ability. You do get their heat ray in the free tier, though. Finally, you can wrap up the collection at the RSR Shop by grabbing Destroyah with their Variable Slicer ability, and the big bucket itself, Mecha Godzilla, and their Absolute Zero blast.
