RuneScape just got a whole lot bigger with massive new area for 25th anniversary
You will undertake a solo mission to completely devastate the local ecosystem
If you have been keeping up, RuneScape has been going through a big series of upgrades recently. And we have reached another step on that journey, with Jagex releasing the biggest area update in RuneScape's 25-year history. Even better, you can enjoy it at your own pace, with no world-ending threat at the doorstep. For now.
Part one of the Havenhythe update aims to slowly introduce players to this new land, showing off the new environment and the activities you can do. This mostly boils down to a lot of Hunting, thanks to a level cap raise to level 110. You can also enjoy fish farming as a new skilling activity if you want to really deplete the area's fauna.
Unfortunately, these new Hunting encounters have one of the worst mechanics in gaming; the failable follow. You will need to track giant creatures whilst avoiding detection, which sounds like a pain. On the flip side, you get a lot of XP and materials to create high-level Ranger armour.

For those who fancy a sardine or 50, then fish farming is for you. You can stock between one and four pools with starters, and once they reach full population, you can harvest the lot. This is not a set up and walk away, however, as pools can get dirty and will need cleaning before the fish stock gets damaged. Still, you’d have to interact for normal fishing anyway.
If you prefer combat to wildlife endangerment, then you can take part in two main storylines. Visions of Havenhythe and Hearts of Sanguine will set the stage for what's to come in this region, and you can clear some side quests as well. Or, head to Silverquill and take down two level 40-50 bosses.
RuneScape is available from the App Store and Google Play.
