PUBG Mobile delve into Greek Myth for Version 4.4
If this were Norse, I would be installing the game right now
There must be one thought developers have when making a battle royale: how do we compete with Fortnite? Even the one that kick-started the genre, PUBG, gets trounced. But now Krafton seems to have hit upon gold with PUBG Mobile: let's tap into that fantastic world of old Greek legends.
Version 4.4 brings the new Hero’s Crown mode to the game, a Greek-themed throwdown that would make Caesar proud. Taking place across Erangel, Livik and Rondo, certain map locations have had a Greek makeover. There are new places to explore, and more importantly, duke it out in gladiatorial combat. But with a gun.
Then there is this mode's holy grail, a floating island named Crown’s Abode. It is the domain of the centaur Helios, and he is waiting to take on the toughest teams. To challenge them, you will need to build Glory by completing a host of trials across the map, much like Heracles, but without that whole madness from Hera business. Coincidentally, Hercules might be popping up elsewhere soon.

Let's be thankful there is no Trial of Zeus
They are trials plucked straight from Greek lore; Prometheus’ Trial has you light the sacred fire, Achilles’ Trial is focused on speed, Icarus’ Trial is an aerial acrobatics display, and Spartan’s Trial is, of course, combat. You can also try the Gryphon Trials for extra supplies and Glory through football games. I have never seen a Gryphon in the Premier League, but sure. You can find a bunch of Greek items to assist you on your quest, like the Battle Flag that buffs your team, or the Heart of Fury, imparting a forward dash attack for a limited time. All of your effort will culminate in you battling and hopefully defeating Helios. Do so, and he will join you as an ally, with his healing abilities and ranged dominance being an asset to your arsenal.
If you need anything other than Greek fun, then there have been a suite of updates in other modes. Classic Mode has gotten the keys to a two-seater convertible in case you want the Dallas treatment, World of Wonder adds more tools to its hotbar, and Metro Royale Chapter 32 brings more seasonal collectables to acquire and show off.
PUBG Mobile is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
