Phobies celebrates four years by unleashing a new wave of horrors
I don’t understand why they released almost as far away from Halloween as you could get from both ends of the calendar
Can you believe that it has already been four years since the evil geniuses won? You know, when the mad scientists over at Smoking Gun Interactive decided to get everyone's worst fears and turn them into that strategy game known as Phobies. Well, it has, and now it is time to celebrate.
Sadly, we are not announcing a Luigi's Mansion-themed crossover for Mar10 Day, although I wish we were. Instead, we must settle for an update dubbed The Invited. With a title like that, you would expect vampires and the like; however, no. What we do get is seven new Phobies to deploy.
Meeting the new contenders for the title of your worst nightmare
Even better, these little terrors are packing shiny new mechanics, so let’s take a look at some. We start with Coco, an unassuming name for an Ultra-Rare Phobie. Say you meet an enemy with a solid defensive line. Well, Coco can use Banish to temporarily remove a foe, giving you a priceless opening. Our second Ultra-Rare is Gloomstare. As the name suggests, they have a pretty powerful gaze. So strong that they can use The Stare Beyond to apply a two-turn debuff to weaken those whose eyes Gloomstares falls upon.

My favorite out of the new bunch, however, is Tammy Tumbler. They may just be a Rare Phobie, but they are fast enough to chase down anyone that retreats, and come armed with Toxic Spike to Disease and Poison their foe for continuous pressure. A close contender, though, is the Babadook.
Besides being infamous, their Encore ability resets cooldowns for that instant pile-on. A very useful skill to have. In addition to these new friends, you can enjoy 7 days of login rewards, limited-time anniversary challenges, and a CIP Event Pass with the exclusive Tinny Phobie as a reward. Halloween has come early.
You can download Phobies from the App Store and Google Play.
Speaking of horror, don’t forget to download Little Nightmares from the Epic Games store. We spoke in depth about why you should last week, so we will keep it simple and say do it before it leaves on March 12th.
