Old School RuneScape Deadman: Annihilation finale kicks off tomorrow

It has been three weeks since Old School RuneScape launched Deadman: Annihilation, and tomorrow, everything will come to a head. Over 153,000 players took part in the limited-time event, and soon there will be just one left standing in a brawl that promises to be genuinely epic. Even with RuneScape graphics.

For those not in the know, Deadman is like a Hardcore mode in other games. When you die, you lose your inventory and equipped gear, so one wrong turn can cost everything. Experience and drop rates are much higher than PvE worlds, but that means little if you wander into the path of player made of swords.

Players pick up Deadman Pint by completing combat achievements, quests, skilling, and other such activities. Playing the game, basically. Annihilation tweaked the standard a bit, however. Bank keys that enabled players to claim the top 10 most valuable items from a smited victim were removed, and the sigil power-up system got a tweak. 

Don’t understand what that meant? It doesn’t matter, because we are in the endgame now. Tomorrows final will have two sections. First, players will be split into one of two factions on their bracket world, before the day dissolves into one big brawl to see who is left standing. It's probably a bit more orderly than this, but I just want to imagine the arena scene from The Clone Wars.

We also know what the prizes will be, and if I knew this before, I would have entered. I would have lost, immediately, but still. The winners of brackets 45 to 60 and 61 to 80 will net a MADRINAS Collectors box, plus a Youtookx Lumbridge Castle brick set, which is none too shabby.

Winners of brackets 81 to 95 and 96+, however, will scroop a StarForge keyboard, Youtooz Tim & Crunchy Monitor Buddiez, Youtooz Dragon Armour Figure, Youtooz Rune Armour Figure, and a Zuk artisan Keycap. So, we can watch the big brawl, then immediately hate the winner. A bonding moment.
