As fun as 1v1 duels are in the Yu-Gi-Oh! world are, Konami announcing 2v2 duels in their latest game, Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel was quite exciting. Now Konami Digital Entertainment Inc has announced the arrival of two new iconic duelists to team up with.
One of the first real duels in the now legendary Yu-Gi-Oh! anime was between Joey Wheeler and Mai Valentine during the Duelist Kingdom preliminaries and showed the skill of the underdog Wheeler by defeating the established Valentine. It also introduced one of Joey's primary tactics; blind luck with the Time Wizard, and now, both these characters are available to unlock as Tag Duel partners.
By taking part in the new two-stage event, Joey’s Road to a True Duelist, players will get the chance to unlock both duelists. The event follows a team-up with Joey, and offers a variety of rewards to unlock, including Game Mats, Card Sleeves and Profile Items featuring both characters. Joey’s Road to a True Duelist is running until October 23rd.
Along with this event, the update brings a bevvy of new cards, including some Joey Wheeler staples, to acquire via card draws. Gearfried the Iron Knights makes his way to the field, as well as Baby Dragon and Time Wizard for those wanting to spin the wheel and create their own Thousand Dragon. Most exciting is the introduction of one of Joey's most iconic cards, the fearsome Red-Eyes Black Dragon.
Cross Duel is the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! mobile game that takes the world-renowned card game and adds a whole new level of tactical complexity. Taking place as a 4-player free-for-all, or a 2v2 coop, Cross Duel connects all players together via lanes, giving players the tactical headache of combating three different players at once.
