Tokkun Studio unveils alpha trailer for family-friendly MMORPG Puzkin: Magnetic Odyssey
We are back on the MMORPG news train, and this time it comes from the sort of international developers Tokkun Studio. They are based in France and Japan, so it counts. Anyway, semantics aside, they have released an alpha trailer for the upcoming family-friendly Puzkin: Magnetic Odyssey.
This cross-platform experience features all the quests, puzzles, and dungeons that you would expect from the genre, however, they do it with much more freedom. You can explore the world on foot, swimming, gliding, flying, or on vehicles like a hoverboard, granting you the ability to go anywhere. And when you get there, you can truly make it yours.
Puzkin is big on building, giving you the ability to build whatever you like, wherever you like. How long those structures will stay up with other people around, who knows, but if you want a safe space to be creative, everyone will have their own private island to decorate however they wish.
Out in the world, you will be joined by a customisable companion called Puz Chief. You can whack foes in magnetic combat, capture creatures, photograph wildlife, and harvest resources to craft with. All the while helping to restore balance to the world.
One of the main selling points of Puzkin is Tokkun Studio’s desire for it to be a safe space. If you have played any MMO, you know there will always be a rotten egg or two. To achieve this, there is no way to write or voice chat in-game. You have to communicate through emoticons, which is safe I suppose but that’s going to be one hell of a spamfest.
The only other thing that Tokkun will need to moderate is the building anything anywhere aspect of Puzkin. Let’s not get too much into what people will build whenever they have the chance, but it will be interesting to see how the devs tackle that. And if you are interested in keeping up with Puzkin until it releases on iOS and Android, you can keep an eye on the official website.
