Super Mecha Champions is having its first crossover event with the anime Granbelm
Super Mecha Champions is having its first crossover event, teaming up with the popular anime Granbelm. The event will last four weeks and see the arrival of a new game mode, mechas, pilots and more.
Granbelm is a relatively new anime, having first released in July last year and follows the story of Mangetsu Kohinata. Despite being quite a young series, it's proven to be fairly popular since it first aired and it has mechs in, which naturally makes it a perfect fit for this game.
The new game mode will be called Mangetsu Battle and players will take part in it whenever they choose to play in Battle Royale. The usual scenery of Mecha City will be changed in this mode and a Portal and Rune Fragments will appear on the map.
The Portal will appear near either the Safe Area or Airdrops and will instantly transport players to another part of the map. This could lead to an abundance of resources or another Pilot. Rune Fragments meanwhile can be collected to unlock an Amulet. This will let players choose special skills to shorten cooldown timers or gain protective shields.
Elsewhere, a new Premium Lucky House has opened with two characters from Granbelm. They are Mangetsu and Shingetsu. There will also be a new Mecha up for grabs called Viola Katze which comes equipped with explosive weaponry.
Super Mecha Champions is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
