Paladin's Story is an upcoming fantasy RPG with an off-kilter sense of humour that's heading for iOS and Android. It will officially launch for both on September 16th though the game is already available on Google Play in Early Access.

The game looks to blend an old school roleplaying experience with a more reflex and timing-based combat system. It also sets out to make light of many of the tropes that the genre has created over the years such as frequently seen character archetypes, commonly found items and of course, the classic plot of the chosen hero saving the world from an unknown threat.

Paladin's Story plays out on a hex-like grid that's full of quests, enemy accounts and shops for buying new weapons and armour. There will 9 different areas to explore throughout the game including varied locales such as forests, coastlines and mountains.

Combat will play out in real-time and from a side-on perspective. Here your timing will be crucial as it will allow you to attack, parry and unleash a variety of combos to cut your opponent down to size. More moves can then be unlocked as you level up.

In total, there will be over 100 different weapons to collect alongside 30 different skills to unlock to further enhance your combat prowess. On the defensive side, there will also be plenty of armour options to protect yourself from enemies that range from rats to dragons.

Paladin's Story is available to pre-order now over on the App Store whilst it's currently available in Early Access on Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases and will officially launch for both platforms on September 16th.
