I've been noticing that interactive books are steadily becoming more popular, as are interactive comics. Gamebooks also seem to be making a pretty strong comeback. But "comic gamebooks?" I'd never really imagined it. Amazu, makers of the up and coming Light Apprentice, definitely imagined it though.

Light Apprentice tells the tale of Nate as he attempts to do his part to protect Ethenia from the Yhrosian Empire. The story is told mostly in comic book form, with players able to make key decisions at certain points in their adventure. It also contains light RPG elements and a similar combat system; making it seem almost equal parts comic and game.

The first episode of Light Apprentice will be available in March. In the meantime, you can satisfy your curiosity by checking out the official demo in your web browser.
