A couple of weeks ago Blizzard announced that the game would be introducing its first new class since the game first launched in 2014. It's called the Demon Hunter and as of today, players will be able to get a glimpse and feel for how it will function in-game.
The Demon Hunter prologue is now available and will be free for all players. It will consist of four singleplayer missions, giving ample opportunity to try out the latest class. The story of this prologue will discuss how Illidan Stormrage became a Demon Hunter in the first place and see that origin story play out from his perspective.
Once you've beaten the campaign, which will probably be fairly straightforward since Hearthstone's singleplayer modes are never overly difficult, you'll unlock a starter deck so you can start using the class once it officially unlocks on 7th April.
This will include 30 cards that will consist of 10 Demon Hunter Basic cards alongside a 20-card Demon Hunter Initiate set. The class will have an aggressive playstyle, utilising a plethora of weapons and powerful demon minions to beat down your opponent.
Ranked Mode has also been revamped for the latest season of Hearthstone. The ladder system is no more and instead will be replaced with a league setup. This will see 5 leagues with 10 ranks in each of them. Players will start at Bronze 10 and will then graduate to Silver 10 after making their way to Bronze 1. If you reach rank 10 and rank 5 in each league you won't be able to lose rank below that for too many losses.
