Grab it now: Game Craft’s Legend of War drops online

The real time strategy game is now available for you to sink your teeth into, through the App Store and Google Play. Combining elements of skill, strategy and empire building, Legend of War is a real gamers’ game.

We got the low-down from the developers about the release:

Is the game suitable for everyone - if so, how have you made sure that's the case?

"Our target for this title is mid-to-hardcore gamer. With the implementation of strategy and skill combined together, the more casual gamers mightn’t be able to immerse themselves."

What challenges did you face during development, and how did you overcome them?

"The biggest challenge was getting a lot of animated characters on the screen while preserving a decent frame rate. We overcame this by combining all of the meshes into a single mesh and animating it as a whole. Another complex aspect was the A.I.: we wanted an A.I. that acted like a human player and couldn't be easily fooled by using simple techniques. For example if you try to lure a legion out of its defensive position, the A.I. will be smart enough to not go on a wild goose chase."

What kind of IAPs can players expect?

"You can buy crystals that can be used to summon legions and also speed up construction in your village. There are, however, many ways to earn free crystals within the game, so you can play and get far without any real money."

Are you planning updates and, if so, what should we be looking forward to?

"The Guild War will become more advanced over time and we’ll be looking to expand the character selection in time."

Have you any plans to bring the game to any other mobile platforms, such as Windows Phone, or Steam?

"Not at present, just iOS and Android for now."
