Neverness to Everness had an excellent launch, but it possesses the same issue as all the other gacha RPGs: after a certain point, there's little to do to maintain player retention.

This is why every update is crucial for the live service game. Based on the recent NTE 1.1 livestream, it seems that the developer is taking player feedback seriously, as many QoL changes are coming soon, including the option to mute Taygedo in the story.

Who's Taygedo, you may ask? It's one of the many Oddities in the NTE world, a being of Anomaly. I don't know why they thought Taygedo would be a good character, but if you need a comparison, you can think of Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy, but with the voice of Paimon from Genshin Impact.

Taygedo can't speak, and his entire lines consist of "Taygedo!" In an annoying, high-pitched voice. His personality is supposed to be funny and cheerful, but I don't really get the vibe, and it seems that many players share this sentiment; so much so that the developer will soon allow people to mute Taygedo in the quests.

Additionally, when skipping quests, you can also see the mission summary, so you can still know what's going on. If you don't like skipping but can't stand the slow conversation, you can now skip directly to the next line by pressing after each dialogue box.

Taygedo aside, here's what you can expect in NTE 1.1

Neverness to Everness version 1.1 will begin with Lacrimosa's debut. Three weeks later, Chaos will also be playable, although his board (banner) will only last for two weeks.

You'll be able to experience more of the main quest in the Dreamwalk Corridor quest, which will also bring two new locations, Corridor of Echoes and Sunward Island.

Here are other notable additions for the next update:

  • New Property: Pegasus Residence
  • Bagel SNS: A social media where you can post content and interact with other posts. You can even gain currencies as rewards for being active there.
  • Fight Club: A hand-to-hand combat mode in the prison.
  • Underground Circuit: A chaotic car race game mixed with weaponry and sabotage. You can play in multiplayer and even work together with other players.
  • New High-Risk Commission: Mist Pursuit. Defeat the boss in all stages to accumulate decent rewards, including Annulith.
  • New Weekly Boss: Debt Collector Anomaly Pilgrimage

If you've been waiting for the Porsche collab, the new vehicle will also be available in NTE 1.1. There's also a new Auto-drive support for vehicles, so you don't have to drive manually everywhere. The speed is slower than your own ride, but at least we'll spare the city from fixing our mess.

Speaking of driving, soon, you no longer have to walk to the Witch's House and Pink Paws Bank; each will have its own teleport point. Chiz will also get a Life Skill that highlights all collectables in Pink Paw Heist.

I really hope that the expansion is substantial enough to keep the game floating. If Hotta Studio follows the same pace as Arknights: Endfield, I'm afraid that they will quickly lose players over the versions.

Don't forget to claim these three codes to get 300 Annulith and other goodies. These codes will expire on May 25, at 03:59 PM UTC (11:59 AM ET), so act fast.
