Is Pokémon a cartoon or anime?

Today, the legend has been released; the Cabbage Merchant has arrived in Avatar Legends: Realms Collide. It was also revealed that Sokka has been the most used hero, which is ridiculous; Zuko is right there.

This got me thinking, however, what are the best Anime games on mobile? And I don’t mean anime-styled. Let’s take a trip to TV-land! Or, more likely, Crunchyroll.

Pokémon Go is an obvious classic

For the longest time, I argued that Pokémon was a cartoon, not an anime. It is a battle I have since acquiesced on. Which works out well, because you can’t have a list like this without the behemoth that is Pokémon Go.

It gets us as close to being a Pokémon master as we are ever likely to get, flicking Pokéballs to catch our little friends, and having them by our sides as we go about our days. It also tricked so many of us into going outside more! Plus, Eevee can sit on your shoulder. Nothing else matters.

Grab Pokémon Go from the App Store and Google Play, and train your own Eevee now.

Dragon Ball Legends is an excellent mix of reflexes and tactics

This one could be contentious because there are a lot of Dragon Ball games out there. Gekishin Squadra recently brought us 4v4 fun, and Dokkan Battle is a fun puzzle game, but for my money, it has to be Dragon Ball Legends.

It mixes real-time attack dodging with a pretty interesting card-based skill system with resource management. You can even take your skills online in PvP action for the ultimate thrill.

Also, it has Vegeta, so download Legends from the App Store and Google Play, and recruit Vegeta.

Solo Levelling: Arise lets you create your own Sung Jin-woo

If you ever watched Solo Levelling and thought that Sung Jin-woo was using The System badly, you can now put your money where your mouth is. One of the best parts of Arise is that you get to create your own loadout for our hero, selecting where his stats go, his weapon, skills, the whole lot. It helps that the action-RPG combat is also a lot of fun.

One Piece Treasure Cruise lets you sail the Grand Line with all your favourites

By now, we have all accepted that One Piece is never going to end, and happily, it looks like neither will Treasure Cruise.

Having six characters in your party might sound like a lot, but considering Treasure Cruise is packing over 2,000 recruitable heroes, you’re going to have a hard time picking. You control combat through simple taps, so it is perfect if you are just looking for something low-key to relax with.

Enjoy the pirate fun on Android and iOS.

SD Gundam G Generation Eternal brings all the series under one roof

There are only a few genres that suit mobiles more than classic grid-based strategy games, and SD Gundam G Generation Eternal is one of the best, even outside the Anime scope. It brings, or is continuing to bring, all the Gundam series stories together in one place, coupled with some excellent tactical gameplay.

I could speak at length about Eternal, but instead I will urge you to download it from the App Store or Google Play.

Sword Art: Integral Factor is a generally fantastic MMORPG set in Aincrad

I saved the best till last. It may not be the most popular, but for my money, Sword Art: Integral Factor is the greatest anime game.

Instead of placing you in the shoes of Kirito, you are a generic member of the Assault Squad, allowing you to make your own way through the story. There are multiple weapons to master, each with its own Skill Records to mix and match for your ultimate setup. And since it is an MMORPG, you can bring your friends.

I can not stress enough how much you should download this from the App Store and Google Play.
