Destiny: Rising is introduce a new mode and a familiar old raid
I am sure I will be in the minority but I dislike this early nostalgia farming
Whenever someone sends me a picture or video, I have a frustrating habit of missing the actual point of it, and fixating on an unimportant aspect. And I am definitely doing that with the trailer for Destiny Rising Season 3 Act 1. It is dark, dramatic, and foreboding, but all I can think is “where do I know that piano music from”?
It isn't the best trailer for a new fan, either, to be completely honest. Trying to set up a plot point, but then mostly showing footage of mooks getting mown down. It makes a line like “doomsday can be averted by understanding your foe” hit a lot softer when you are just thinking “well, all I am understanding is a shot to face will fold these wet paper towels”.
Fans of the series, however, will immediately know what they are looking at: Crota and The Hive. The famous Destiny 2 Raid, Crota's End, will be available in the Season of Providence from January 3rd, and I am a little against that, to be honest. Feels like a lack of faith when you're already resorting to nostalgia this heavily for your new game. Yes, all the characters are the same, but the battles don’t have to be in this alternate timeline.

What I am more excited about, however, is Bulwark Ops, which will land on December 30th.This is a Tower Defence mode that can be tackled solo or in a group of three, during which you must defend yourself against 30 waves of foes. You obviously do this with towers, or by shooting your enemy square in the dome yourself. A nice, fun way to play.
This season will also allow players to recruit Kabr, the Resolute. They are a Mythic Arc character, and even better, you can unlock them for free. Simply complete the operational activities, and you will have this powerhouse all to yourself.
Destiny: Rising is available from the App Store and Google Play.
