The idea of a mystery you need to uncover over multiple runs is actually quite enticing

I don’t know about all of you, but I am a sucker for a good mystery. Columbo is one of my favorite TV shows, even if the concept is kind of reversed there. The point is, detective work is cool, and we should all be excited that Clue: Murder by Death will be coming to mobile.

Eventually.

It will first be coming to consoles and PCs next month, but then it will arrive on our mobile devices later this year. But when it does, I think it will feel like it belongs there. Looking at the trailer, it has a delightfully cute artstyle that isn’t overcomplicated, and gameplay looks like it will translate easily to touchscreen.

Cluke: Murder By Death story and gameplay

Now, let us set the scene.

The story takes place in a big manor, as is per for a whodunit. It is a home owned by Lord Robert Anderson, who is having a positively dreadful day, as he has been discovered murdered in his office. You take the role of a detective who is trying to solve the crime before Scotland Yard arrives to take over. Which is weird, surely they would be helpful?

I am betting the detective did it. Trying to cover their tracks.

To solve this crime, or cover it up more like, you will explore 166 to locate clues, which will be used to interrogate the 10 suspects. Each has a motive, and it will be down to you to find out the inconsistencies in the story and decide who you want to accuse at the end of the 2-hour investigation.

Interestingly, however, this mystery goes deeper than just one run. Each time you complete a cycle, you will piece together more of the story as you experience the night through each character. Fittingly, it will take you around 10 or 11 runs to uncover the true secrets behind the downfall of Lord Robert Anderson. I have already deduced it was the detective; it is elementary.
