From Cult of the Lamb to PowerWash Simulator, you can do it all.

It can be very hard to justify subscriptions, especially in this day and age. I pay for Crunchyroll, Amazon Prime, and Disney Plus, amongst others, and barely use them. Apple Arcade, however, has put forward a very compelling case for its subscribers, with the introduction of several incredible games.

Let’s start with mobile game royalty; Subway Surfers+. It dominated the download charts for years with its easily accessible gameplay, perfect for short bursts. Now, the Apple Arcade version strips out the ads and purchases, offering new ways to play and earn rewards.

Royalty is one thing, but what is the monarchy to a god? Cult of the Lamb places you in the fluff legs of the titular mutton, as you venture out to build up your cult, and destroy those that oppose you. You can even engage in a spot of evangelism and dark rituals, how delightful.

Taking over the world can be a messy business, and someone has to clean all this up. So, why not start your own business in PowerWash Simulator? I can’t properly describe how this game is so enthralling, but I have lost many evenings just cleaning entire mansions, or enjoying the Final Fantasy 7 pack. It sounds like a simple concept, but you need to try it.

If you feel yourself heeding the call of the water after all that washing, then dive down to Bikini Bay in SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit 2. It is a charming sidescroller set in Nickelodeon's iconic cartoon, full of all the characters and humour you would expect from the series. Collect coins, beat bosses, and have a generally chill time.

For those seeking less chill and more hectic fighting with flashy skills, then Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm is the one for you. Take control of your favourite characters, including the newly introduced Zabuza or Haku, and whip out all the signature moves you tried to emulate in your childhood. I always liked to play as Kiba Inuzuka, for Akamaru.

There is not a single bad game in this batch, so if you own an Apple product, it is definitely worth at least trying the Apple Arcade trial.
