Minecraft gets a new server courtesy of two TikTokkers, and it may actually be good

I am usually someone who loves shiny new tech, or problems and the like. However, TikTok is always one that passed me by. Do I need to see hundreds of people doing the same trend? Having said that, two TikTokers have broken past the bounds of dance videos to deliver unto us a new way to play Minecraft.

Kxttydrea, a person who posts cat videos and therefore is ok, has teamed up with Snorvix to bring us Forgelands. This is a cross-platform Survival Multiplayer server, which I don’t need to tell you is the best way to play Minecraft. Creative is ok, but it is nothing compared to the constant threat of doom.

This server is available on both Java and Bedrock editions of the game. If you are curious, Java is the original; Bedrock is the one that's optimized for cross-platform play. Both deliver the same game basically. Either way, the main point is that Forgelands will bring together mobile, PC, and console players.

Gain rewards simply by playing

The supposed aim of this project, besides growing both the creators' followings, is to create a place for collaborative gameplay over pay-to-win mechanics. But I give it five minutes before someone leads a Creeper to your base. Having said that, I do hope people come together to build a massive compound together.

Players in this world can get themselves crate keys by voting for the server, taking part in events, or completing in-game challenges. Some of these events deliver rewards to everyone, in an effort to prompt people to get involved. I am curious if there will be any defense against the inevitable griefers who will join.
