Every week here at 148Apps we like to make sure that you're up to date with all the awesome games that have come out for iPhone and iPad over the past 7 days. We pick the cream of the crop to ensure that you don't have to play anything boring and broken. That's our job - you can let us sort out the wheat from the chaff while you have a nice cup of coffee and put your feet up.

This week we've got free to play games, we've got premium games, and we've got games where you can fall off a mountain. And if that wasn't enough there's a game where you can steal the Mona Lisa, and another one where you can shoot aliens into gory little puddles. What a week we're having.

If you've got your own suggestions then please do let us know about them in the comments section at the bottom of the article, after all, sharing is caring. And while you're considering other games, why not click here and check out all of the other awesome lists we've been writing over the past few months. Right then, let's get on with this week's games.

Forged Fantasy

- download for iOS

A gorgeous looking, slick playing midcore ARPG that sees you building up a team of warriors and trying to save the world. The action here is super cinematic, and there's always something to do; whether that's taking on other teams in PvP, jumping into a co-op raid, or working your way through the massive single player campaign.

Hang Line

- download for iOS

Essentially this is a cartoon version of the Sylvester Stallone classic Cliffhanger. You're playing a rescuer who's got to swing around a mountain and save people from becoming re-acquainted with the ground quicker than they were hoping for. There's a lot of fun to be had here, and simple controls let the action flow.

Galaxy Stack

- download for iOS

A shooter that's most interesting idea involves how you score points. You're creating a pile of shattered ships underneath you, and you get more points the higher it gets. It's not the slickest blaster out there, but there's fun to be had all the same, and the scoring system means you need to think a little differently about what you're doing.

A Thief's Journey

- download for iOS

A simple puzzler about robbing people blind. You're the titular thief, and you need to move around museums, standing on all of the right panels to unlock the goodies you're looking to pilfer. Obviously things are more complex than that, and the game throws in spikes, lasers, and spotlights that you need to figure out how to get past.

Alien Shooter 2

- download for iOS

A top-down shooter that sees you shooting evil alien invaders to pieces. There are loads of missions you can complete, discovering what's happened to the world and doing your best to try and stop it. This is an intriguingly tense game, with some really interesting lighting work, and a good chunk of action to top everything off.
