Keep your eye on the prize

As with many fast-paced games of this nature, it's always extremely helpful to always be looking ahead. Try to look ahead on the path to scope out upcoming obstacles and coins that you'll want to be aware of. This will help you to move along as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Collect rings

Hog the power-ups

When you see a power-up bubble coming up, try to get as many of them as possible. You can hold two for yourself, and eliminating any remaining power-ups means your opponents who are lagging behind won't have access to any, again giving you the advantage. Greedy? Maybe.
