Naraka: Bladepoint developers 24 Entertainment team up with Hacksmith Industries for a special project

Despite the historic bad press gaming has received. I am sure if a meteor crashes into Earth it'll be the industry's fault because Sephiroth did it in Final Fantasy 7, we know that it is one of the best communities to be a part of, and the developers behind Naraka: Bladepoint has certainly added to this lately with an incredibly classy move.

JesseLHV is a YouTuber from the UK who was unfortunately born with only one arm but has rather admirably turned this into an asset through some rather impressive gaming videos, some people can barely build in Fortnite with two hands and Jesse is smashing it with one. 24 Entertainment, developers of Naraka: Bladepoint, noticed him playing their game one day, and felt generous.

The developers reached out to both Jesse and US-based building wizards Hacksmith Industries, who have created some pretty cool Lightsabers and other movie and gaming props, in order to see if they could create Jesse a working prosthetic arm based on the one that Naraka’s newest hero, Hadi Ismail, uses.

After being sent to a hospital in the UK to have his arm 3D scanned, Jesses’ data was then sent over to Hacksmith, who set to work creating another of their epic inventions. The technology was based around the San Diego engineering company Psyonics’ model which incorporates an app to fine-tune the hands’ movements, grip type, strength, and a number of other parameters.

When complete, the master Hacksmith himself flew over to the UK to present it to Jesse personally, as well as deliver the cherry on top that it was his permanently. Presumably, it doesn’t have a sword or glider in it like Hadis’, but nonetheless, it is a beautiful gesture from 24 Entertainment and a lovely reminder that gaming can do good.
