Middle-earth: Shadow of War is a fun, action-packed follow up to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The addictive nemesis system and dark, moody atmosphere remain, but the game now features a gacha system and some pretty deep party mechanics. Not only do you need to have a sound strategy in combat, you'll also need a strong party of champions to assist you on your quest. We're here to show you how to get the best characters you possibly can, and what to do with them.

Brand orcs

Early on in the game, it's a good idea to brand a bunch of orcs so that you can call on them in battle when the going gets tough. They're a great help in tougher levels when you're still fleshing out your party. If you're stuck with weaker heroes, having some branded orcs around can make a big difference.

Use the palantir wisely

You should check the palantir daily for a free roll for new champions and glyphs, which you can use to unlock even more characters or level up your pre-existing ones.

Maintain balance

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is a class based game. Each character will fall into one job category -- ranger, tank, support or fighter. You'll want to have a variety of types if you want to have the most success. Support characters are incredibly important, and you should have at least one tank or fighter who can get up close and personal with your enemies.
