The tower defence / rhythm hybrid LOUD on Planet X can be pretty overwhelming at first, as it demands that you play strategically and to a beat.

If a high score is what you're looking for, we've got a few tips and tricks to help you get there.

Keep on tapping to the beat

Even when there are no aliens, it can help to keep tapping on the screen to the beat of whatever song you're playing to help you keep rhythm.

Though you won't score just for firing your amps, keeping time throughout the song can help you maintain your score multiplier.

Don't worry about powerups

LOUD on Planet X gives you some powerups over time that can be helpful but, more often than not, using them can just be a distraction.

On most songs, you can pass the level without having to use any powerups as long as you're able to keep the beat, even when playing on the hardest difficulty.

Use LOUD toward the end of the song

If you find yourself breezing through a song, you can increase your score even more by using your LOUD power at the end of a song.

This will take out all on-screen enemies, so you'll score some quick and easy points.

Increase the difficulty for the same song you just played

It can get pretty overwhelming when playing on a harder difficulty, but if you already have the beat fresh in your mind it's a lot easier to nail every single tap on the next playthrough.

So, if you're trying to get three stars on a hard song, it might be easier to play it on normal first and then try the harder difficulty.
