Highlight – People Nearby has recently been bumped up to 2.0. The new version now allows for real-time updates of other users around you, and the app’s algorithms have been made a lot smarter (i.e. it gives more importance to someone from your hometown than someone who likes the same TV shows you like). Notifications have also been improved by way of a “What’s New” approach that will inform you of any changes in a repeat contact’s info. Of course it’s also been polished up in a more general sense, but perhaps the biggest change (or at least the most significant one) is that the app will go a lot easier on your battery – less than 1% per hour of use, according to the developers.
