We've all been there. One second, we're riding high on a crazed goat, and the next, we've been tossed off it like someone who's no good at goat ridin'.

Well, I'm here to help prevent this happen with some tips and tricks for Goat Rider, the latest and greatest from BeaverTap Games.

Don't try to stay in the center all the time

Although it might look like the right place to be, staying in the center of the goat actually gives you less reaction time to work with.

When the goat stops glowing red, it's better to slide as close to the right side as possible so you can maximize the time window you have when the goat glows red.

As the goat speeds up, so does your sliding

From a physics perspective, this doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but as the goat moves around the screen faster, its attempts to slide you off the left side also move more quickly, as do your attempts to stay on the right side of the goat.

This is important to note because it means that reaction times on both tapping and releasing get tighter the further into a run you get.

Wait for the goat parties

Who doesn't love a goat party? Every once in a while, a play session might turn into a goat party, during which the likelihood of stars appearing increases dramatically.

If you make sure to last as long as possible in one of these parties, you should be able to unlock a new character by the end of it.

If you just want to unlock characters, be strategic

If you aren't a score chaser but you want to unlock all of the goofy characters in Goat Rider, the fastest way to do so is actually to not try your best on every run.

Only one character can unlock at the end of any given round, so playing at any point past when the star meter fills is pointless. Well, unless you do want a high score.
