Dragon Land is a brand new 3D platformer available on iOS and Android that's reminiscent of the platforming classics we enjoyed in our youth.

Here the evil Borg has kidnapped all of your dragon friends and it's up to you to put a stop to it. So you'll head off on an epic adventure through a variety of fun 3D levels as you run, jump, and beat up your enemies.

Each time you complete an episode, you'll rescue a dragon friend and unlock it for play in any of the levels. Each dragon has its own useful abilities that will help you with the challenges ahead.

To learn more about Dragon Land, we reached out to Dano Alonso, Producer at Social Point, to learn more about the games that influenced it, the lessons learned from other mobile platformers, and where we can see the game heading in the future.

Which games most influenced Dragon Land and how?

"It's obvious that we've played old classic games of the genre - everyone in the team has their favourites, after all. I would say that Dragon Land has the best features of all those games."

Have you learned any lessons from playing other mobile platformers and runners that have helped improve Dragon Land?

"It was hard to find other 3D platformers on mobile, so our main references are console games.

"Runners did help us understand how to adapt the free to play model for a 3D platformer."

Who is your target audience and why?

"To be perfectly honest, people that like platformers will absolutely love Dragon Land but those looking for a real challenge on mobile will also find plenty to like here."

Was multiplayer a priority when developing Dragon Land?

"Truth be told, it wasn't a priority at first but along the way we were curious about how our control schemes would adapt to a competitive multiplayer environment.

"We were amazed with the laughs and competition that came up while testing the prototype internally, so it felt right to add it to the final game."

Which is your favourite dragon and why?

"That's easy - it's Tutanky. He can glide, has a majestic pose, and some of the coolest skins in the game!"

Where do you see the game heading in the future?

"We plan to expand it with more levels and features, but might also introduce a few more synchronous multiplayer surprises down the road."
