Generation 2 finally launched in Pokémon GO, unleashing a brand new batch of Pokémon into the wild. Even before the update went live people were speculating on how to catch elusive Pokémon like the legendary "dogs", Unknown, and whether or not there would be new regional exclusive Pokémon. The answer to that last question is a resounding yes, it turns out, thanks to the astute researchers over on The Silph Road subreddit.

Players may have quessed it a head of time, but it turns out that Corsola and Heracross are both region exclusive. While the Generation 1 region exclusives -- Tauros, Mr. Mime, Kangaskhan, and Farfetch'd -- were relegated to different continents, this time around the exclusives are based in latitudinal regions.

Heracross can be found anywhere south of the "Tauros" line -- 29 degrees north latitude. Folks residing in southern Florida and Texas will be able to catch one.

Similarly, Corsola can only be found in what's considered Earth's "tropical belt" a stretch south of the Equator between 31 degrees north latitude and 26 degrees south latitude.

Folks are still gathering data on the regional Pokémon, so it's likely these exact locations could shift a bit, but for now it's safe to say that the new regional Pokémon are sticking to warmer climes. If you don't live in these areas, you'll either have to do a bit of travelling or ask a kind friend to snag one of these for you -- you can't hatch a Corsola or Heracross from an egg.
