It’s Christmas time, and what better time is there to boss around Santa Claus? Wait, what?
Boring Santa of most iPhone apps just goes to houses and drops off presents. A few, like Kung Fu Santa fight off ninjas in order to recover lost presents, but none have Santa doing the Macarena.
As you can guess, Santa Command is a bit different than your average Christmas game. In this one there is no high score to gain, no presents to deliver, and no story to experience, just a bunch of things that you can do with a live action Santa.
Instead of just rolling through the 300+ live action commands that you can put Santa through, the game lets you hunt and find actions a la those of Ultima games that you used to play in the 80’s. For example, if you type in “sword fight,” you will see a live action sword fight between Santa and an elf. Want him to do a jig? Just type it in.
Santa Command is certainly silly and may not entertain the average adult for too long, but I can’t think of many better ways to keep a kid entertained during the road trip home for Christmas. Just tell your kid to find all 300 actions and walah! 5+ hours of quiet.
Santa Control is free at the moment (they say that they may up the price closer to Christmas), so be sure to pick up your copy while it still costs nothing. Have fun!
