Yoozoo Games’ popular action MMO Legacy of Discord is getting a huge new update to celebrate its first anniversary. Perhaps the biggest change is the addition of an exciting survival mode titled Last Guardian. This new survival mode will pit you against other players, offering all new ways to approach combat in Legacy of Discord.

Each match in Last Guardian lasts for 20 minutes, where you’ll be placed on a map and forced to survive. That means killing off other players while seeking out weapons, equipment, potions, and other items to help you level up and survive for as long as possible. You’ll get points throughout the match for number of kills, assists, and the equipment and chests you discover.

Last Guardian features two different formats to accommodate different playstyles. If you’re looking for something a little less cut-throat, Entertainment Format will suit nicely. Players can resurrect after they die, though they’ll lose all of the equipment they found prior. At the end of the match, the player with the most points wins. Death Format, however, takes the Battle Royale approach, with a gradually shrinking player region. If you’re caught outside of the boundaries, you’ll gradually lose HP. If you die, you’re immediately disqualified. The last person standing wins.

If you’re worried about keeping up with the competition, it’s worth noting that all players start with the same attributes at the start of a Last Guardian match. That’s where all of those items hiding in wait come in. Gathering items and equipment is key to becoming stronger than your opponents, while opening chests will grant you some much needed experience points. Potions are also incredibly valuable in Last Guardian, with three different types -- Attack potion, Defense potion, and Special potion. They’ll grant you helpful, temporary buffs. Some special potions may even turn an opposing player into a chest for a short time.

Do you think you have what it takes to survive in Last Guardian? Find out for yourself, as the update goes live today.
