Wuthering Waves livestream gives us a peek at what's coming in version 2.8
Of all the gacha action RPGs, my favourite has been Wuthering Waves, so I am always glad when there's an update revealed. The latest livestream gave us some details on the upcoming Version 2.8, which will take us to a new location and introduce two playable characters.
Titled To the City Set in Amber, we will get Chapter II, Act XII: Stagnant Dawn on Wastelands, and Chapter II, Segue: Flowing Starlight in the Iris, as well as a few limited-time events. Gifts of Amber will reward you for logging in, or you can indulge your creativity with the Whispers of the Waves photo collection event. For those that want to dive into the combat, though, check out Stranger Things in Honami, or the Tactival Simulacra: Off Tune if you are tough enough.
To help out, there will be two fresh Resonators to recruit. Phase I will bring Chisa, a Havoc hero who has a healing kit, as well as the ability to buff DoT characters. That is wildly disappointing to me, as Rover is not a DoT unit, and I wanted a full Havoc team. I refuse to not have Raver leading my team.

Our Phase II banner will be for Buling, who is a four-star, and therefore, bin. She is an Electro Resonator, who is also a heal/support character. Her Outro skill heals and buffs the incoming character for 16 seconds, which is pretty good, to be fair to her. But we can’t dilute our 5-star teams! Eltitism runs rampant in gacha!
Speaking of my Havoc squad, there will be a Sonata Effect named Thread of Severed Fate. A three-piece will inflict Havoc Bane, increasing Resonator’s ATK by 20 per cent and granting a 30 per cent Resonance Liberation damage bonus for five seconds. You can also collect a few Exchos, including Nightmare: Baby Roseshroom, Nightmare: Tick Tack, and Nightmare: Dwarf Cassowary. What a dream come true.
There is also a smattering of gameplay additions, including expanded elemental effects, a streamlined combat flow, system improvements, and visual upgrades. If you engage in an epic battle and end up with several Echos lying around, you can use the one-click Echo Aborption to pick them all up at once.
Wuthering Waves is available from the App Store and Google Play.
