If you are a Warhammer fan, then you already know about the yearly Warhammer Skulls showcase. For those who aren’t fans, now you also know about it. Sadly, the latter half will also miss how exciting the announcement of a Dawn of War crossover event in Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus was. In a word, very.

In the Dawn of War series, there is a particularly celebrated Blood Raven by the name of Cyrus, beloved by many due to his general badassery and the fact that he was pretty dang useful as a unit. Now, his particular set of stealthy skills can be harnessed in Tacticus.

His active ability, Strike from the Shadows, deals massive Bolter damage to his target. It also causes them to take additional damage from other ranged attacks until the end of Cyrus's next turn.

In a slightly less stealthy move, his passive sees him drop a Haywire Mine when he moves, or if he stays put, he will just chuck one on and adjacent hex. Even the stetalhy can’t resist an explosion.

Pick your side... not that you have a choice

Next, we take a turn into a clash between the Necrons and the Dark Angels. In a new campaign event, you shall take control of the Necrons, which would not be my choice, but sure. This struggle will lead you into a final showdown with Lion El’Jonson, Primarch of the Dark Angels.

Lion El’Jonson also pops up again as the upcoming Guild Raid Boss, set to land on June 17th. Back by everything that Caliban can offer, this is set to be one of the most gruelling raids yet, mostly due to the Emperor's Shield. That thing is an utter menace.

Finally, the end. Or is it the beginning? Time will be hard to keep track of, thanks to Thothmek joining the Necrons. He is a Chronomancer who protects his allies by manipulating time to help them avoid harm. Plus, he can help his team deal additional damage to foes, just as an extra annoyance.

Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus is available from the App Store and Google Play.
