Teppen is closing down but Capcom is doing it in the right way

I do so loathe when a game closes and leaves no way to enjoy it ever again

I am sure we can all agree that there is a large number of outstanding card games available on mobile. Balatro, Marvel Snap, Hearthstone, and Monster Train, to name but a few. One lesser-sung example was Teppen, Capcom's crossover collector. Unfortunately for fans, however, GungHo is pulling the plug on this adventure.

There is no reason given in the End of Service Notification, or its update, as to why it is closing, but we can assume money. Isn’t that always the answer?

But on March 30th, the doors will close on this universe-bending adventure that slammed all of Capcom's properties together. Now, how will we see Leon Kennedy teaming up with Megaman?

Do not despair too much, however, because GungHo and Capcom are doing this shutdown in the correct way. There will be an offline version available when that fated day arrives, and even better, it isn’t just a gallery. Well, there is a gallery included, but you will also get to play games using your collected cards.

Let’s revisit what we can do in a moment. First, a rundown of key dates. Jewel purchase is already over. On March 1st, you won’t be able to buy card packs or do the Jewel enhance in Adventure mode. Then, March 30th brings the close and release of the offline version. Now, very important, on April 29th both the application distribution on availability for the offline version update will cease. Then, on July 30th, the official website will close, and support will end.

Two key dates in there: you have until March 30th to collect as many cards as possible, on then until April 29th to update to the offline version before it is lost forever. As mentioned before, you can play games against the CPU in the offline version. You can also view the visuals of previous packs, craft cards, and enjoy Hero Stories and Adventure modes.

Make sure you don’t miss out, I am not sure when the next time is that we will see a Palico knock seven bells out of Dante.
